Golden Tulip Lyon Ouest Techlid Hotel and Spa

Hello everyone. I have to agree with the majority here. Finally a hotel in France (other than 5 stars) that deserves its stars. From entering the very well secured area, through the underground car park and lobby to the room. We chose this hotel for our stopover based on the reviews left and will definitely do so again!!! I just really hope that the house will maintain this standard. I can't say anything about the service because we arrived very late and will leave very early. For sure is that you can relax and continue your journey feeling fit again. As of today, thumbs up. A small note. However, the TV programs for international visitors should work. I speak French, but my wife doesn't.

Booking.com screwed me a bit and gave me a room without spa access when showing all photos of the spa in the room photos. The front desk worker guy was very kind and professional and found a way to only charge me a tiny bit more to upgrade to the rooms that did have access. Could have been way worse due to booking.com but the concierge totally saved the trip. I’m so grateful as the spa was in fact amazing and just what I needed after about two weeks of lesser quality hotels throughout France. Worth it! Plot your breakfast out as all the restaurants may show open but really have a meaning just coffee and bread or desserts. The sandwicherie nearby is delicious too. The beds were amazing. The walls were thick and quiet all night and morning. No noisy loud cleaning staff or loud slamming doors. The bathrooms were swanky and clean :) Tons of electrical outlets and usb outlets. Fridge in the spa access rooms. Robes and slippers in the spa access rooms too. About 5 hot tubs and 2 hot saunas and a steam room and bunch of other things. Laying out getting sun was therapeutic too. Excellent date vacation spot.

We paid 250 euros a night for this hotel. It was absolutely not up to that standard. The service was the worst by Heidi. They advertise air conditioning but apparently they don't let you turn it on during winter, even if it's a 28° day. Raised this with Heidi who was on shift that night and he walked out on us while we were still mid sentence! Not to mentioned he was also shouting at us. Absolutely disgusting. We did not pay money to be shouted on us! And also just what happened to respecting other people? They also seem to be running out of everything, we stayed for 3 nights so naturally needed more stuff like body wash, which they frequently kept running out. The spa was mediocre, doesn't make up for the rude behaviour.
