Golden View Oak on Church

Fantastic stay at this very spacious studio room which exceeded any expectations. Modern furnishings and appliances, large bed and huge bathroom. Private garden and patio and covered secure parking. My wife and absolutely loved our stay and we will definitely return when next in Clarens. Walking distance from the square (2 blocks) and Clementines restaurant. Appreciated the fact that the hostess contacted us beforehand on WhatsApp with the check-in instructions and directions and even stayed in touch throughout our stay. really great experience.

Beautiful little cottage just up the road from the square in Clarens. Perfectly located, you don't have to drive too far to get something to chow. Beautiful view of the mountain from the porch which you can enjoy on the porch swing. Most things are a short walk away. House is fully equipped with all that you need including heaters, electric blankets, fireplace, braai, kitchen, wifi, TV, etc... Couldn't have asked for anything else. Good communication from the managers as well to get the keys as well. Overall great experience.

Offered me a "discounted stay" at Oak on Church for R3060 per night, disgusted to find out not only is it not a discount but it is a grossly increased price. Maids are terrible, hardly clean anything. Many amenities not available as seen in photos. Very impersonal "check-in" process. Bath tub looks like it was attacked by a cat. Cleaning staff are not very nice at all. Fans seem 10 years old. Tiles on outside steps are a hazard. Offers only 3 chair pillows for 5 chairs. Gives a travel cot but doesn't even give a mattress to fit in the cot. I am disgusted and feel insulted by the sheer disrespect shown by the owners to OVERCHARGE me while telling me it is a discount. Clarens is always beautiful but I DO NOT recommend this accommodation to anyone.
