The pluses are most definitely the location (the setting in the forrest is really pristine), the staff for their kindness and service, the food (especially the desserts) even when it is a bit overpriced (mildly though, the quality is very good). And also the golf course is gorgeous (even I don’t play golf myself). It does miss though the extra point to be a 5 star hotel worthy, breakfast good a bit more divers and bigger and the condition of the buildings (if you look closely while walking around). And the presence of a shop. Overall nevertheless it is nice hotel, with a friendly staff and good food.
We stayed here in June 2024 and there was a heatwave at the time. What we loved: Early check in (10am); late check-out (noon); super nice staff; good food for dinner; quiet, comfortable and large bedroom; clean building and bedroom; fresh water bottles at reception; beautiful 10 minute walk to the beach (mostly under pine trees); long and wild beach, ok internet (not very fast); ecologic: using glass bottles and cloth napkins, plastic glasses by the pool, but not single use, many recycling stations throughout the facilities. What could be better: Having a small shop (toiletries, beach towel clips, sunscreen, water, chocolate, etc); controlling the amount of flies; having some activities on the beach, but not sure if it's possible due to water conditions (sup, kayak); breakfast choices could be better (for a 5* hotel); staff was somewhat disorganised and sometimes quarrelling amongst themselves.
DON'T BOOK THIS HOTEL! During my stay at Is Arenas Resort, I encountered several issues that affected my overall experience: General feeling: The hotel appeared abandoned in many areas, with common spaces showing clear signs of neglect. Despite the size of the hotel, it was disappointing to find that bicycles were available for rent at an additional cost. This seems unreasonable given the resort's amenities. Room Cleanliness: Although the room was large and spacious, I was disappointed with the cleanliness and maintenance. Some issues needed attention, the linen sheets were dirty. Food Service: The breakfast offered a nice variety of dishes, but the service was slow, and I had to ask multiple times to get a coffee. Also in general the restaurant hours are very short. Don't expect to be able to order any decent food after 3 pm. We had frozen pizza in Italy.. and sandwich from the deli... Customer Service: The staff seemed unresponsive to our concerns, which added to my frustration. I expected a higher level of service, especially given the resort's reputation. This is not a 5* hotel!! Refund Process: We booked the hotel through booking. They used this as an excuse to not refund us. We stayed 1 week and left after two days. Our friends who booked through their website got a refund... After negotiation, they offered a refund for one night due to the issues if I did not post any comments. The arrangement for this refund has not been honored, leading to this. Overall, these experiences significantly impacted my stay, and I hope the resort can address these concerns for future guests.
