The kaiseki-style dinner was distinctly Japanese — refined, seasonal, and artfully presented. While the flavors may be more subtle or unfamiliar to Western palates, the experience itself was elegant and enjoyable. Service was outstanding. The staff were incredibly attentive, warm, and thoughtful — especially two wonderful attendants who took care of us with such grace. You truly feel seen and welcomed here. The entire property is a serene retreat: lush gardens, calming architecture, and an atmosphere that transports you to a more peaceful time. While there was a minor communication delay before our arrival, it was promptly resolved, and our stay proved to be an absolutely exceptional experience. Upon stepping into the ryokan, we were immediately impressed by its ability to seamlessly blend traditional Japanese aesthetics with modern conveniences. The architecture and ambiance truly reflect this thoughtful integration. The service provided throughout our visit was impeccable. From the efficient check-in process to the serene spa, the exquisite dining, attentive room service, and smooth check-out, every interaction was handled with professionalism and care. The staff's dedication extended to assisting with luggage and even providing a complimentary Mercedes ride to Gora station, a gesture that was greatly appreciated. A significant highlight was the open-air hot spring. Its incredibly relaxing and naturally immersive setting allowed us to disconnect from the demands of the outside world and truly unwind. The kaiseki dining experience was a culinary delight. Each dish was not only delicious but also presented with artistry, offering a truly memorable gastronomic journey. Overall, this ryokan offers an unparalleled retreat, providing a harmonious blend of tranquility, luxury, and authentic Japanese hospitality. This was a wonderful place to stay. The private onsen overlooking a Japanese garden left us with a sense of peace and tranquility, which was needed after our hectic honeymoon travel schedule! The rooms were spacious comfortable and a delightful blend of modern and traditional architecture. The only thing that exceeded this was the level of service from the staff. We had a traditional dinner and breakfast served to us in our room on a traditional Japanese table and it was exceptional! Thank you for a memorable and beautiful experience!
