I want to begin by expressing our deepest gratitude for opening your stunning venue to us during this very emotional and uncertain time with my father’s health. Your kindness and generosity truly meant the world to us. Last night was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were met with warmth, compassion, and a level of service that simply blew us away. I had mentioned to your incredible staff that I would follow up with a message — because what they did cannot go unacknowledged. The team at Gorgeous Gorge went above and beyond anything we expected. From the moment we walked through the doors, everything was taken care of with such grace and professionalism. What touched us most was the extraordinary care shown to my father. Watching your staff carry him — in his wheelchair — up multiple flights of stairs with such dignity and respect left us truly moved. And the fact that they extended the same care to my 93-year-old grandmother, refusing to let her climb the stairs on her own, showed a level of humanity and thoughtfulness that’s rare to find. You and your team have not only given us a beautiful evening, but a lasting memory that we will treasure forever. I will be telling everyone I know about the remarkable service and heart that defines Gorgeous Gorge. We will most certainly be back again. With heartfelt thanks,

A beautiful arty/hipster hotel right in the center of Cape Town, making it a great base to walk around and explore. All of the staff were incredible and happily catered to some special requests. The atmosphere was on point, especially at the rooftop. The cocktails were 10/10. The food was good but I feel a little lacking, especially for breakfast with no continental option. The rooms are beautifully designed with an industrial feel. But there were a few minor annoyances that made me rated 4/5 for the rooms (we stayed in a Studio); 1) the rooms are dark even with all of the lights on. Our room was facing an office building so we couldn’t really open the curtains (and there’s no free shows here) 2) the bathroom mirror is hung so high (and far back) that my partner (~5’5) had to tip-toe to see herself properly and for some reason there’s no extendable shaving mirror? And I had to kind of hover over the toilet to get close enough to put my contact lenses in. 3) the bathroom had no heated towel rail which I’d expect for a 5* hotel. And the towel hooks were stuck on, not wall mounted, and a few times they just fell off the wall. 4) and (I’m being picky here) the A/C was facing the bed, which means at night you get a blast of LED light in your face. Of course, you can turn it off but in summer I suspect you’ll fry alive.

From the moment we checked in we felt welcomed. The staff were incredible, so friendly and chatty and nothing was too much trouble. We had a studio room which was really spacious with a very comfortable bed. It had everything you could ask for, Tea and coffee, hairdryer, lovely toiletries, great air con, yoga mat, and the Netflix on the hotel account was useful. Breakfast was amazing, both the choice and quality of food. The restaurant food was also delicious as were the cocktails. We thoroughly enjoyed the ambience of the restaurant and bar in the evening and the live music was great.
