My stay at Governors Inn in Tallahassee, Florida, was absolutely fantastic! The location is perfect, right in the heart of downtown Tallahassee, just steps away from the Florida State Capitol, the Supreme Court, and a variety of shops and restaurants. The hotel’s central position makes it easy to explore all that Tallahassee has to offer. What makes Governors Inn truly special is its rich history. The building was originally constructed in the 1920s as a stable and warehouse, and in the 1980s, it was transformed into the boutique hotel it is today. The hotel has preserved many of its original features, including exposed brick walls, wooden beams, and antique furnishings, which give it a warm and inviting atmosphere. Each room is named after a Florida governor, adding a personal touch and a connection to the state’s history. The rooms were spacious, beautifully decorated, and equipped with all the modern amenities you could need. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the attention to detail in the room’s decor was impressive. I especially loved the historical touches throughout the hotel, which made the stay feel like stepping back in time, but with all the conveniences of the present. One of the highlights of my stay was the exceptional service. The staff were warm, welcoming, and went out of their way to ensure that my stay was perfect. They provided great recommendations for local dining and attractions, making my visit to Tallahassee even more enjoyable. The place is an older building, so if you're looking for a pristine place, this would not be it. But it has character. The furniture looks old to keep up with the decor and there's historical factoids on the walls about Florida governership. The staff was very accommodating and tried to help as much as they could. Our room had an issue with the A/C and they upgraded us quickly, and the new room had been a bit dirty. Not necessarily their fault because the housekeeping messed up. They sincerely apologized and got it taken care of quick. It's really a cool hotel. If you have an issue, they'll take care of it. Would love to stay again.

The service was great, all staff I encountered were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The beds are very tall and I'm quite short which made for a minor middle of the night bathroom visit fiasco. I was on the 3rd floor and the stairs are not all together, so it's quite a journey from the ground floor to the top. If you're on the 3rd floor, you may do well to bring along a few hobbits, a wizard, a dwarf, and an elf to ensure your safe arrival. All in all, it was a pleasant stay and I would recommend this hotel.
