This is a wonderfully fun hotel set in a gorgeous location with great décor. It's upscale but not pretentious. The rooms are very comfortable, the restaurant has a small but delicious menu and the staff are lovely; everyone from the front desk to the servers to housekeeping when together to make the stay stress-free and enjoyable. The setting is stunning and the views are rave-worthy. If you're lucky you will see cows grazing just across the canal...no other venue offers this. If I'm ever in Cambridge again I will absolutely come back here.
Breakfast buffet and seating was really lovely. The room was spacious and nicely furnished. View of the river beautiful. Amazing location, immediately close to town but 5 min walk so tranquil vibes, instead directly bordering the Fen, with outdoor seating along the river. Historical and inspiring city
Local residents who dropped in for a drink before dinner elsewhere on a lovely Cambridge summer evening. Busy, but certainly not overcrowded. Waited about 12 minutes to order a drink (having confirmed I was in the right place to order a drink) but gave up after watching one of the bar staff take 10 minutes (I timed it) to make a single Pimms and Lemonade. Noted the other 3 bar staff seemed to be busy (and friendly if frazzled!), but it was all so slow and chaotic and inefficient…. I just gave up and went and enjoyed the scenery. Would have been nicer with a drink though. Next time I might take my own. Poor form, i know…but the place was so understaffed I’m sure no one would have noticed!
