Stayed at this hotel right on the UConn campus for an ice hockey camp. Walking in you’re greeted into the lobby by a massive husky statue, bar to the left, long sitting table, and the check-in desk to the right. The entire hotel was decorated with items from UConn’s history. The hotel staff were all great. Price is moderate but the convenience of being right on campus is worth it. There is a daily cost to park and also an additional daily destination fee at the time was $15. However, a credit of $15 was applied if you purchased from the bar/restaurant. The lobby area was expansive and a good place for remote workers to camp out. The room we were situated in happened to be a handicapped accessible room but was fine with it and hoping no other guests needed it. Rooms are spacious, welcoming, and clean. I’m not sure if it was this specific room but the room felt “musty” even though the air conditioner was cranking away full blast. To be fair, it was very hot outside. The bathroom area was clean. Water pressure could have been a little better but it was sufficient. Walking around campus was easy. Bikes are available if desired. Overall, a great hotel with a great bar, with great staff.
I was thoroughly impressed by both the facilities and the level of service. What truly elevated my experience, was the staff. Everyone I interacted with was incredibly friendly, always greeting me with a smile and ready to assist. But beyond just being courteous, the staff consistently went above and beyond to ensure my needs were met. There were several instances where I required assistance outside the typical scope of hotel service, and each time, the staff stepped up without hesitation, they made me feel genuinely valued as a guest. The hotel’s gym also deserves mention. For its size it’s small, but it has sufficient equipment to support a decent workout and spacious enough to not feel claustrophobic. However, one small issue stood out—the temperature control. When I went for a 32km bike ride, someone had left the thermostat at 72 degrees. With four people in that compact space, it felt hotter than fish grease. I was sweating like a dog 2 minutes into my cardio. For a better guest experience, the temperature gauge should definitely be locked and managed by staff, set between 67-69 degrees, especially during the summer season. Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. The combination of excellent facilities and a dedicated, compassionate team makes it a standout choice. I highly recommend this spot to anyone traveling for business or leisure—you won’t be disappointed.
Location was super handy for attending graduation. We could walk over and avoided all the parking. Rooms were clean. Cute in hotel cafe, didn't try it though.
