Gran Hotel Barcino

The hotel is in a great location. The Gothic Quarter is terrific with restaurants, live music, access to transportation, events, and the close proximity to the waterfront. If you stay here, you will walk everywhere so bring comfortable shoes. The staff is terrific. The buffet is awesome, and staff at the buffet is also polite and helpful. Street noise is a slight issue, but if you stay in a busy neighborhood, that's to be expected. The only thing I would like to see, is a bit more shelving space for clothing, otherwise you're living out of your suitcase. There is no dresser, nor are there drawers to put away your belongings. Water pressure in the shower is good, and rooms are clean. TV disproportionately small.

I would recommend this hotel to visitors. This is not a luxurious hotel. The room has simple amenities like coffee/tea, a kettle, the room is spacious, the bed is comfy, good hot water supply for the showers, and the staff are friendly and are patient to give tips for attractions around the city! This hotel is 1 minute from one metro station, and is 5 minutes from another. The location is also great with tons to do around the hotel.

The rooms were clean and properly serviced. Reception is friendly and helpful. They don't replace the coffee packs when rooms are servuced but you can get more at reception. Room has a safe and small fridge, which came in handy. Small balcony was nice to be able to sit out and watch h the people in the streets. Unfortunately, the hotel is in the Gothic Quarter and people noise through the night robbed us of sleep. Usually carried on till 3am. On the plus side, it is close to Jaume 1 metro so easy access and many sights and restaurants within walking distance.
