Gran Hotel Benahavis Spa

Great price, English speaking. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast each morning was exactly as you'd expect, food was nice from their restaurants too. We did nothing but stay round 1 of the 2 fantastic pools by day and visit the local restaurants by night! Slept very well in a very specious bed and room, which was cleaned every day. We ended up tipping as many staff as we could before leaving since they were all amazing! Including the lifeguard! Had an amazing time and would totally recommend for anyone not planning to venture out from their hotel too much. There's a gym and spa + jacuzzi on site as well so you can stay healthy while you lounge. Benahavis is a beautiful town but well out of the way of popular tourist destinations, the beach, neighbouring towns, local city etc. Definitely worth a trip though and would recommend to food and golf lovers as they're well known for their food and have one of the biggest golf resorts I've ever seen. 10/10. Would stay here again.

Could be fantastic but is currently very dated. Pool only open (clean) midday to 8pm which isn't great if you have small kids. Need to be able to use the pool before the real heat of the day. Decent breakfast.

I would not recommend this hotel. It is for sale and it seems like they are just trying to keep it going. Rooms are outdated not to mention the lobby. Had to switch rooms the first night as the a/c was not working. Towels are sand paper thin. Second night there were no towels in the room. Front desk wouldn’t even bring the towels to the room, my husband had to go get them. The remote control is held together by tape. The waiters at breakfast wouldn’t even look at you. Can’t wait to get out of here tomorrow.
