It’s pretty and old. And a nice view if you get one. The breakfast was ok but the “coffee” was just darkened water. The bar wouldn’t make change for us, which seemed odd.

Great location on the hilltop overlooking the harbor. Good breakfast, comfortable bed, and pleasant staff. Rooms are clean and quiet. There is a cafe as well.

Pound for pound, the worst hotel that I have suffered, and I have travelled a lot. The rooms are of variable quality, but all are dirty, the place really needs a proper clean and a lick of paint. The bathrooms in some of them are pathetically small, and it can be tough to get in and out of the bath as well as perform some more basic functions. We were there for four nights, the rooms were cleaned once, badly. The breakfasts were terrible, the coffee was hot black water, actually not that hot. Don’t stay at any time, but particularly over New Year, unless you’re up for an all night party. If it were the sort of budget place that I stayed in 40 years ago, I wouldn’t mind, but it’s expensive, the worst value I have known, and its description as a four-star hotel is a joke. The staff are ok, but seem dragged down by the misery pervading the place. The location is good, everything else is terrible, avoid unless you are desperate.
