Grand Amazon Expedition

We did a multi-generational family trip with 80 year old grandparents and our 8 year old twins. There were fantastic activities and amenities suitable for all ages. We had a family suite, so the kids got their own room with individual twin beds and their own balcony adjoining the parents room that had a king size bed and a balcony. Each day’s itinerary included a few options to experience the Amazon through boat tours, wildlife encounters, local culture visits, rubber plant tour, night tours and viewing the meeting of the waters on the last morning. The tour guides were all amazing and professional; special recognition to Anand who was our English speaking tour guide and extremely knowledgeable. We did not run into many other tours down this part of the Amazon, it felt like a private experience. All of the service staff were professional and welcoming to interact with in English and Portuguese. If you have an opportunity to experience the Amazon, the Grand Amazon Expedition is an awesome option you won’t regret.

Such a great experience. They made it easy to do excursions and truly experience the Amazon. There was always something to do throughout the cruise. The service was amazing and the staff was so kind. The guides were knowledgeable and helped us understand what we were seeing while feeling safe. Would highly recommend. The rooms wifi didn’t work on the 3rd floor and there was no hot water. Didn’t matter much because the experience was still amazing. Jefferson was AMAZING.

I have taken a few dozen cruises, this was the best. It begins with exceptional staff, who are friendly and enthusiastic. The ship is gorgeous and the food is the best cruise ship food I’ve had. I don’t need to say much about the Amazon, because you know about that. But do know it’s the black river, with a Ph inhospitable to mosquitos. This was a great relief! The entire package was just amazing. If you can afford it, the suites on deck 2 are well worth it. The private balcony is huge and sits at the front of the ship, great for star gazing in the warm air. It has a hot tub jacuzzi, large bathroom and a separate living room. It’s simply huge. Great staff, well organised and professional operation, amazing wildlife, and all with the best food on the Amazon. That’s a good start, but it is inclusive of star link WiFi, drinks, and alcohol too, so drink up mateys. There is nothing disappointing about this ship or cruise. Finally, as a gay couple with children, we were welcomed with hugs and love. The Grand Amazon Expedition is totally grand!
