I really wanted to give the hotel a better rating but there's so many aspects of it where they've looked to penny pinch to make the place a mediocre hotel / experience. Admittedly, we were comparing this to the service we got at a similarly priced hotel in Antalya (Royal Garden Beach Hotel) where we went last year. Firstly the positives: - the entertainment here for kids is fantastic. There's a nightly mini disco, which all family resorts actually offer, but the thing we didn't get last time was other nightly entertainment with there being a show every night. This included magic show, Columbian acrobatics, Turkish belly dancing, Mongolian acrobatics. All the shows were fantastic. There were also good day time activities for our daughter (3 yrs old) which included pizza and cookie making. - There were decent themed evenings - turkish night, tapas, wine and cheese which made things a little different. I thought the quality and choice of food was best during Turkish night, Now the negatives, all of which make you come away from the holiday thinking you could have really made this hotel feel like a luxury / quality experience. - You have to pay to use the safe in the room. I have travelled to dozens of countries and countless hotels and this was the first time I'd ever been asked to pay for the safe at a cost of £15 for the week. Honestly, I thought this was pathetic, and just detracted from the impression of the hotel. - The hotel felt like a club 18-30 holiday for families. We unfortunately had another guest, we don't know who ring our room four times during the stay and put the phone down straight away, waking our young kids up. When I went to complain to Ali at the front desk to tell him what I thought was happening his response was "Ye, probably". What kind of response is that from the front desk, the impression it gave just said it all for the hotel. It also showed that this was a regular occurrence which the assistant manager confirmed when I complained. - This hotel is connected to it's sister hotel, the two are joined together, but you can't use your all inclusive at the sister hotel and have to pay for drinks. The only sports shown on TV are at the sister holiday so you'll need to pay for drinks if you want to watch. Again penny pinching which really degraded the impression of the hotel. - Some of the staff are really friendly but many of them looked miserable and clearly didn't enjoy their jobs. This meant they didn't really help you particularly at the front desk and restaurant and detracted from the atmosphere. That said the guy making the omelettes at the outside station is one of the friendliest guys I've met. - Wifi is terrible in the rooms, they do offer wifi boxes which you have to pay for. - Only one key card is provided, if you want a second you'll have to pay for it (£5). In Antalya we got two which seems logical for a family of four. - They don't provide beach towels and don't allow you to take room towels to the pool area. This wasn't expected for us as most hotels we've been to provide them. The hotel is very noisy, even when we'd asked for a quiet room. We were at the end of the complex away from the evening entertainment but you can constantly hear door banging people upstairs moving around and people shouting in corridors. - As with most all inclusive the food wasn't great. The breakfasts were the best but lunch was poor as were the burger stations. Everything just very bland. Dinner was OK, the live stations better than the food sitting in the restaurants. Food options and quality were much worse than our experience in Antalya.
Arrived late Saturdaynight. Walked into the room was like an oven, that hot it was sickly and we had to go out. Room is sun facing but the air con doesn't go below 18, bathroom has no extractor fan which makes that room even hotter as they is no air flow to it. Have to leave air con on all night but the couldnt sleep with the noise as its really loud even pressing the silent mode doesnt change anything,Room not even been cleaned literally came in and folded the quilt up not even made the bed. Pool lol is very very small, all the loungers are together, no space in between your literally on top of each other. No bars open till 10am so no soft drink or anything untill then unless you go to breakfast, Its all inclusive but went to one bar and had to pay for drinks. Room hasn't been cleaned. Second day here room hasn't been cleaned no fresh towels. No fridge stocked up.
On our return to the UK my daughter and partner have been diagnosed with salmonella and I'm covered in bed bug bites- do not book this hotel. Evidence sent to Jet2 including GP records- all diagnosis have been verified by the NHS. The rooms are tiny unless you upgrade. The mattresses are very hard , almost like sleeping on the floor. The room was barely cleaned and the pool area was also very dirty. There were layers of dust everywhere in the room. I ended up covered in insect bites and this happened either by the pool or in the bedroom, I did not sleep for the last 3 nights there as the bites are extremely itchy - will be getting these checked out the moment we land. My partner has barely left the room during the last two days , as gone down with something that I can only describe as gastroenteritis, could not eat or drink anything other than bread and water. No DR on site so had to look for pharmacy The balcony was so tiny it could only fit 2 chairs even though the room is supposed to sleep 4, it wasn't cleaned once during our stay . The food was average , with better options available on the grill . Breakfast were the best meal with omelettes made to your taste. The bar and drinks were ok. A member of staff ( kids club lady) would not leave my sun bed until I submit a 5 star review. I've amended it after she left but she's returned the following day claiming her money will be reduced if I don't give this place 5*!!! Shocking they push staff to do this. This review is for the hotel amenities , not staff. The hotel cleanliness is a let down to their effort. Jet2 and TUI both should be looking at the star rating there and reconsider sending customers until cleanliness standards improve. The hairdresser Jack was great , the other two staff members, however, always looked miserable and the lady was very pushy and borderline rude making comments about personal appearances - not a great marketing strategy.
