Grand City Hotel

The hotel is compact but cozy enough especially I am staying single occupancy. The room.is clean, quiet and safe. The aircon is good, wifi is slow though. Hotel reception is helpful. I have a good, quiet and peaceful time staying here for 7 days quarantine.

Decent for the price but overall the interior of hotel rooms is below par. The room is too small and does not have enough space to accommodate luggage. There is no couch in the rooms, and no wardrobes too. There is only a mini partition along the wall that comes with 2 hangers/hooks. Staffs are really friendly and helpful though. The stay is only pleasant because of the friendly service.

It is unfortunate that this place is a designated quarantine hotel. Considering the aspects of health and the promotion of good hygiene by government bodies, this hotel doesn't deserve to hold the anti-epidemic hygiene measures certification. I truly wonder how HKQAA assigned the certificate to this hotel and deemed it eligible for quarantine. I understand that being a cheaper option, some things will have to be compromised, however it is to the point where it becomes of concern that this is a hotel for "quarantine" as the health aspects surrounding this hotel are closer to risky than feasible for medical isolation. Food is the same everyday and is often times delayed as far as 45min past the scheduled time, lacks nutritional value, packed with starchy sauces with no fresh vegetables whatsoever. Sink smells like sewage, very strongly. Carpets not cleaned properly. Mold on wallpapers. It is claimed that the room is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected prior new guests. Please see the photo I attached, this can not be a 4 star hotel and should not hold any accreditation on hygiene matters. Looking over reviews, many people mentioning the same problems for many months, seems as nothing is being done, no accountability for standard, no enforcement of standard, very disappointed through and through.
