Grand Hotel Bonanno

A hidden gem in Pisa with exceptional service and peaceful location We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Bonanno. The service was truly outstanding. From check-in to check-out, the staff guided us at every step and genuinely cared about making our stay smooth and enjoyable. The hotel is just a 10-minute walk from the Leaning Tower, yet it’s slightly set back from the main tourist streets. This gave us a welcome sense of quiet and calm, especially after a full day of sightseeing. Breakfast and parking were included, which was a great bonus. The breakfast was simple but fresh, with both hot and continental options. The hotel is located near the train tracks, but the soundproofing is excellent. We didn’t hear a thing. Our room was clean, complete, and comfortable, without unnecessary extras. It was exactly what we needed for a relaxing stay. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great value, outstanding hospitality, and a peaceful spot just minutes from the heart of Pisa.

Very nice and cozy hotel. The staff were helpful and kind. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the air conditioner worked perfectly. They also offer a good breakfast with a variety of options. I stayed there for 5 days, and everything was good. I have nothing to complain about and would definitely recommend this hotel. However, I missed two things: first, there was no napkin box in the room; and second, there were no proper coffee cups—only plastic ones were provided, which are not ideal or healthy for drinking hot coffee.

We stayed here for two nights at the beginning of May 2025. Initially we arrived early and they took our suitcases for safe keeping until our room was ready (as advertised 3pm) We came back at just after 3 and the room was not ready, and this seemed to be the case for several other guests, but we finally had our key at approx 3.30pm The hotel was nice, and the room was a basic but clean double room. Our room was closest (on our floor) to the train line and yes it's noticeable, but didn't ruin our sleep. We had breakfast included in our price and the selection wasn't huge, but tied us over until lunch time. We picked this hotel based on a variety of factors, proximity to the Tower, Train station (which we used to travel to Florence on our second day) and importantly price - and would visit again should we return to Pisa. Side note, the hotel also have a system which alerts local taxi services, which we utilized to get back to the airport, with the taxi arriving 4 minutes after requesting it.
