Grand Hotel De Courtoisville

We arrived on the morning ferry and hadn't arranged an early check in however we were still made welcome and ended up spending a couple of hours in the lovely swimming pool before we went to the room. We had a junior suite which was a good size, the bedroom and sitting rooms lacked hooks for coats etc. Some good restaurants and coffee shops nearby as is a supermarket. Close to the beach but a bit of a walk in to the main tourist part, we enjoyed the walk others may prefer to be closer or get a taxi. The food in the restaurant was well presented and good quality.

Rooms are small but clean, organized, and well decorated. Strangely, the sink is not in the same room as the toilet so you have to go to another room to wash up afterward. Kind of weird but given the tight room layout, I can understand. Breakfast was delicious, with a wide assortment of meats, pastries, fruits, etc. The garden is beautiful, and you're less than 100 yards from the beach and ocean promenade. Excellent location! Would definitely return.

Overall it was o.k. Most of the staff is competent and friendly. Breakfast has good quality but lacks variety. Our room wasn't what you expect from a 4-star hotel. Especially the bathroom was below standard. 50€ per night extra charge for 2 dogs without anything in return (e.g. food or bed) is way overpriced.
