Grand Hotel De Rose

We were happy with our stay. The nice location and the view were beyond expectations. Nicer view than on the website. The staff were nice and helpful. The pool was a big plus for our children. The rooms are clean, but not particularly modern. On the other hand, we had expected that, otherwise the accommodation would probably have been significantly more expensive. Very good with a "private" beach with accompanying sun loungers. Unfortunately, the food selection was stingy and the prices high at the Lido. Would have liked simpler lunch options. Now we went and ate elsewhere instead. Would also have liked more and clearer information about the hotel's own restaurant, preferably if the menus were on the website. We never ate at the hotel as the menu was short and without options for our picky children... All in all, we are happy with our stay and can imagine coming back.

charming Hotel overlooking the beach. Very friendly welcoming staff. Clean and well maintained. Very comfortable bed. Nice private beach. One thing that I suggest to improve: Offer higher quality coffee at breakfast. We‘ve had a great time in Scalea, grazie!

We stayed at the hotel for 4nights which was alright, but its far from 4* or even 3* rating. The hotel itself is worn out, hasn’t been looked at, overgrown, needs updating inside and out. Things a broken and not fixed, pool was shut because of the faulty pump, breakfast very standard and same every day, not much of flavour, COFFEE is horrific! Being in Italy you would expect at least coffee to be good, OMG it was the worst!!! Our bathroom tiles were very mouldy, everything is really tired and not very clean. It feel like its been stuck in the old times and deteriorating. Leaf blower started work at 4:45am which was obviously disrupting our sleep. From other hand, staff is friendly and helpful. However, I wouldn’t stay again.
