Grand Hotel Downtown

My friends and I enjoyed our 3- nights stay at Grand Hotel Downtown, the location is great as it closes to café, bar and restaurants. 10-15 minutes walk to museums area. The gentleman who checked us on the 19th of July afternoon was so welcoming and incredibly helpful (sorry I did get his name). They also allowed us to keep our luggage their for a few days after the check-out date. The view from the 6th floor was also breathing! Highly recommended!

Disappointed by the rooms. I was placed on the ground floor in a dark room with no view—far from what I had expected. I’ll admit I didn’t fully check the details before booking, as I usually let price guide me, assuming a certain level of quality. Unfortunately, that approach didn’t work here. I would strongly advise others to be very careful when booking. The penthouses may well be lovely, but if you don’t pay close attention, you could easily find yourself in something closer to a broom cupboard. Update: Fire alarms… can happen. Forgivable. But then you expect the check to be swift and for staff to know how to silence the fault. Sadly not the case.

We bought a family room and they gave us a room at the reception entrance, facing the street. The windows were not filtered. You could see the inside from the outside. Even if you wanted to open the window, you couldn't. When people passing by touched the window, you had to look from the room. It was not suitable for families with children at all. It was even scary. The rooms were very small and it wasn't a family room at all. I definitely don't recommend it.
