Grand Hotel du Park et Regina

If you’re looking for something different, this is the place to be. The hotel is incredibly beautiful and definitely has its own quirks and personality compared to your standard modern hotel rooms. There’s a nice swimming pool available and the bar/reception is open ‘till late. The location is also very nice, not in the middle of the busy city centre and between 2 gorgeous tourist attractions. The rooms get cleaned everyday and the staff is very kind and helpful. The only downsides are the airconditioning and breakfast. Italy can be very hot during the summer so it’s important for me to have a good airconditioning in order to get a good nights sleep. You cannot turn it on by yourself so you’d have to ask the receptionist to turn it on for you. Even then, they turn it off during the night so you still wake up sweating like crazy. The breakfast is also very minimalistic. Not many options available besides a small sandwich or a yogurt cup. It already would’ve been a huge upgrade if they added some eggs or some fruit. But in the end, I do think it’s a great hotel. I’ve had such a pleasant experience due to the kind staff and beautiful ambiance. I definitely recommend!

It may look nice from the outside, but unfortunately, I can’t say the same for the inside. Especially if you’re planning to stay during summer, it’s a nightmare. In the room they gave us, the air conditioner was making noises as if it was boiling water. We changed our room, but sadly, the new one wasn’t any better. First of all, the air conditioners are absolutely inadequate, especially considering the weather in Italy. It doesn’t cool properly. Also, the rooms are very small. Especially if you’re two people, there’s barely any space to move around. On top of that, the furniture is very old. And the bed wasn’t even a proper one. It was just a cheap, unstable metal frame that felt super uncomfortable. Another frustrating detail was the lack of available power outlets. We even had to unplug the TV just to charge our devices. Worst of all, there were ants in the room. That was completely unacceptable for a place claiming to be a 4-star hotel. Although the staff tried to be helpful, there are fundamental issues that need to be solved here. Wouldn’t ever stay here again.
