While I am traveling through parts of Europe, I visited so far several places and Bergen op Zoom and stay in Grandhotel De Draak is the highlight so far. I was rather disappointed with Amsterdam due to crowds, chaotic traffic, no parking and I wish I knew about this place so I could plan longer stay. Having breakfast outside of the hotel on Grote Markt is one of the most peaceful experiences I had on this trip. Hotel staff is welcoming and helpful, room was small but clean had everything and more one would need, I could even open my window for fresh air. Staying in the oldest hotel in Netherland is already quite an experience but there is also more to see and do in this little town, it would be hard to get bored. And locals are so very friendly and helpful.
Very good location to visit the city. Famous historical hotel, built in old, historical buildings. Our room was spacious and and had a view on the marketplace. Breakfast was very good. Wellness was included, but not really a wow. OK to have some rest but more. Overall, a very nice experience.
Beware of scam with hidden costs ------- this hotel is great : the rooms in the main building are nicely renovated, breakfast is perfect (especially in the terrace with the view on the square), the reception team is welcoming, the wellness is nice. I was not convinced by the restaurant 1397 , but the hotel itself was great
