Grand Hotel Filippo

A nice hotel in the middle of a very quiet town. Nothing fancy. The room was nice, but felt a bit cold at night. They ask you to put a label on the room door handle if you want to have the linens changed, as they don't change it until you request for it. The breakfast didn't have much vegetarian options.

Nice Hotel but has a few problems: 1. only entry with stairs, no ramp for wheelchair 2. lift to rooms from first floor upwards, ground floor has also stairs (the lift would be too small for wheelchairs but as they can’t enter the hotel anyway…) 3. no sockets by the bed. Only 1 free socket underneath the table, when we tried to move the table we damaged our charger and broke the cable. No option to have the devices (phone with alarm, tablet, laptop etc) next to the bed. 4. kettle in the room is broken, worked but felt hazardous to use if water could get into the electrics 5. key card failed every single day, so when trying to enter the room we always had to go back to the reception to get a new card 6. dinner not in house but at a nearby restaurant (10 mins walk, parking possible but not much information how to get there, before booking we weren’t informed about breakfast / dinner times and locations which did affect our plans) 7. no options to spend time in case of bad weather (no pool, no fitness room - despite the location in a „wellness“ area) 8. limited options for vegetarian savoury breakfast (one of the days there were olives, the other days just a bowl of small tomatoes, no salad or vegetables, no big assortment of cheeses or hams) BUT: - clean room - comfortable bed - free parking - fresh fruit & sparkling wine & coffee machine for breakfast - grand lobby, bar & breakfast room - plenty of free and safe parking - good location easy to find and reach by car - very kind staff It was good for a short stay of maximum 3 nights. Still, I‘m not quite sure if I personally would give it a 4 star rating. Information: - Breakfast Time 6.30 until 10.00 - Dinner Time at Restaurant L‘Alexain 18.30 - 21.30

Absolutely FAR from a 4 star. Let’s start with a room that smells like humidity and sewage, zero ventilation, no working AC so the temperature was always above 25 degrees Celsius. No working fridge, no working WiFi, a plug that’s half hanging out of the wall. And finally a very poor breakfast. I do not know when this hotel got its 4 stars but certainly no one has checked on this standard in a long time.
