Grand Hotel Flora

We stayed at Grand Hotel Flora and had a room with a beautiful sea view. Breakfast was included and offered a good variety, with friendly staff. The pool was nice, although a bit colder than expected. We used the garage, which costs an additional €20 per day – convenient, but something to keep in mind. Overall, a pleasant stay with a few minor downsides.

Lovely hotel. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Shower had ample water pressure. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful (with a wide variety of pastries). Handy to the train and bus station - and a walkable distance to the port. The nearby restaurants are fantastic. It’s only 1km from the shopping district.

How they have four star status I cannot explain. If you don't pay twice the amount of the regular room you get a room in an old run down part of the building. Clogged drainage, smaller room then described on their website and no soundproofing so you might as well sleep on the busy street below. No earplugs provided on behalf of the hotel. Advertised "amazing breakfast" is mediocre at best. The breakfast area and staff are not meant to service the volume they have housed in the hotel. In general if you are looking for a good value for the money this is not the place. There are certainly better options in the Sorrento area.
