Very nice hotel and restaurant slightly West of Forli. We had one of the suites which was big, had a great view over the mountains, large bed, jacuzzi and rainfall shower. The star lights in the bedroom are a cool add-on. Service was good and very convenient that there's a nice restaurant for dinner. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Only downside is that it's a 15min taxi to Forli. You can't walk an public transport would take 1hr. If you have your own car that's totally fine of course.
I stayed at Grand Hotel Forlì as an overnight stop after a concert at the Imola Autodrome, and it was a great choice. The staff were very kind and helpful, making the check-in and overall stay smooth and pleasant. Breakfast was good, with a nice variety of both sweet and savory options. The prices are in line with the area, though they do tend to increase around major events at the Autodrome — something to keep in mind. I booked through Booking.com and had no issues paying with an American Express credit card. Another plus: dogs are welcome with no hassle and just a small extra fee of €10. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this hotel, especially if you’re attending an event in Imola and looking for a comfortable and reliable place to stay nearby.
The best thing about our stay was the concierge. Carlotta was super helpful even from before our arrival, helping us find taxis and ensuring our room requests were met, and Federica was absolutely perfect from beginning to end. Super friendly and helpful, always smiling and making sure we have everything we need, including all the information we asked for - she was absolutely fantastic! The pool was also clean and well kept, which is for sure a plus. For those who arrive by car, there is also plenty of parking. Unfortunately, the list of issues is longer than the good things we found at Grand Hotel. First of all, the room was very dirty (all the walls were stained and dirty, and the bathroom was not properly cleaned & disinfected - as seen below). Secondly, the room felt as though it lacked personality, which for a four-star hotel, is unacceptable. The location of the building was also a huge issue, as there are barely any taxis in Forlì and they are extremely expensive, and busses don’t reach the hotel. Also, arriving by foot is impossible, as there is no road for pedestrians. Another horrible situation for us was the breakfast: the lady working the bar on the breakfast shift was extremely unfriendly and unpleasant, constantly seeming bothered by even our mere presence there, and completely unwilling to serve us. It seemed as though she wanted to do anything but her job, and her overall attitude was extremely rude and off-putting. Also, the plates on the buffet were dirty! - see pictures below. This is completely unacceptable for a four-star hotel, and just added to the negatives we encountered during our stay. Lastly, the A/C in our room did not work properly, as the room was impossibly hot during the day. Honestly, such a pity that the concierge girls do their best to accommodate guests, and the rest of the staff don’t do their jobs properly. Wish I could’ve rated this place higher, but unfortunately was very very disappointed with our stay at Grand Hotel Forlì. It definitely is not worth the money, nor the four stars it has. Would not recommend.
