The grounds are amazing! Live oaks, views of the bay and a beautiful pond with amazing wild life and friendly ducks. My husband and I visited for the first time and were very impressed with the beauty of the entire place, the level of service and variety of activities. The cannon fire each day is a mist to learn about the history. We loved the Bayside Grill, bike riding and live music at the 1847 lounge.
A fantastic experience with so much to do! We went for the recent memorial holiday weekend and didn’t have time to do all of the things that were available. The recreation staff is phenomenal and I witnessed them working tirelessly to make sure the guests all had a blast. Sandcastles, fishing, adults only pool, watercraft… and that’s just scratching the surface! Be sure to check out the main building and ask about the military history. Super fascinating! If you need anything fun-wise, Adam and their rec crew will take care of you!
My husband and I took our 3 kids recently for a 3 night stay. Overall it was a blast. The kids loved the water slide and all the yard games. I have 3 main complaints. 1. Our room was worn down and smelled like a locker room. We were in the spa building. Not sure when the last time they were updated. 2. The prices were astronomical. $4 for a donut, $5 for a soda, $20 for a plate of watermelon. I could go on. 3. My biggest complaint: The pool opens at 8am but the pool restaurant doesn’t open until 11. It wouldn’t be a problem if they allowed outside food and drinks. They don’t, so those with little kids or just a regular adult who wants a drink or snack within a 3 hour span are just out of luck. Overall the dining options were not great. Some sort of concession stand or quick service option would be a great addition. The local market doesn’t count. *a pool with a deep end and diving board would be cool too.
