Grand Hotel Gortani Wellness & Relax

Nice hotel and food. However i didn't like the atmosphere on swimming pool. We went with daughter 10 years old. She is very good swimmer and she loves to play in water. She is well behaving girl but i felt the eyes of older guests anyway. I felt like we were not welcome. As if the swimming pool was only for seniors who want to sit on sunbeds. Instead of relaxing and playing with daughter i felt like we should not speak loud or do no motion at all. Best if we had stayed silent and leave swimming pool for olders only. Maybe it is good idea to have 2 hours just for kids.it is not fair that adults can go all the time and children can not be children. Even on holidays. If adults have one our without kids let it be 1 hour or 2 hours for parents and children only.

It’s difficult to rate this hotel because of the contrasting experience we had. The lobby and breakfast area are beautifully renovated, and the breakfast itself is excellent — high‑quality, fresh, and a real highlight of the stay. These touches show the hotel’s potential. The rooms, however, are something else. They feel dated and stuck in the 1980s — and not in a good way (see images) — and could benefit from an urgent update to match the standard set by the common areas. The mattress in room 101 is saggy and should be replaced right away, at the very minimum. I would recommend refusing room 101 if they offer it to you. It’s also in a very odd location. The pool is architecturally stunning (the architect used attractive complementary color combinations), but the limited opening hours — sauna closes at 19:30, pool at 20:00 — make it difficult to enjoy fully. There’s also no pool access on checkout day, even before the 10:30 checkout time, which feels very restrictive and odd, given that the spa and pool are what set the hotel apart. If you want to use the steam room, good luck — it’s only open after 16:30. If you want to use the tiny fitness room, good luck because you need a reservation. If you return to the hotel after dinner hoping for a relaxing swim, you’re out of luck, because they will remind you they’re closing the pool at 19:50. And if you’d like to enjoy the spa or pool before leaving in the morning, you’re out of luck again, as they do not allow morning access before checkout for some odd reason. Disappointing, especially since the only reason we booked this hotel was because of the pool. With refreshed rooms and more reasonable pool hours, this could easily become a truly grand place to stay and a genuine 3 reaching for 4‑star hotel. Right now, the rooms feel like 2 stars, while the rest of the hotel sits closer to a safe 3 stars — as even their bathrobes indicate (see pictures).

Nice place, but not four star hotel. I left 3 star review because that's how many stars this hotel should have. Amount of equipment in the room doesn't mean it needs to be a 4 star hotell. Bathroom has definitely seen a better days. But it is ok for 1 night.
