We've had a brilliant time here, we are on the 7th floor with a beautiful view of the harbour and sea, clean tidy room spacious housekeeping very attentive and friendly. Breakfast was nice, perfect location for us. It is in the process of having work done to the hotel but didn't spoil are time here, plenty of parking as there's 2 floors underneath hotel to park on so are hire car was safe, Great hotel.
Grand Hotel Gozo is a good place to stay when in Gozo, located just up the road from Mgarr harbour. The rooms are pretty decent to be honest - often quite spacious, especially the rooms with a nice balcony view. Worth getting the upgrade if you can! Service in the bar can be a bit patchy at times, though. I'm sorry to say that sometimes the staff come across as a little cold and stressed out. They could probably update the bar area generally, it kind of gives retirement home vibes! Overall, a nice hotel! I haven't tried their restaurant so I cannot comment on that or the quality of the food provided.
Your results may vary: General: The hotel has seen better days, but it is in a beautiful old building in a good location with tons of potential. Pro’s: - sea view rooms - balconies/ terraces - some rooms are modernized (those on the top floor) - house keeping very attentive and friendly - some very friendly and qualified staff - good on-site dive center (extra divers) Cons: - the biggest drawback is that the outdoor pool is not opened before the summer (despite the hotel website advertising it open from April to October) and its derelict state - breakfast is mediocre - many rooms are not modernized, feature 1980s appliances and basic equipment, such as wall plugs near the nightstands do not exist - some checkin agents don’t know what they’re doing (yet)
