Grand Hotel Italia

I've stayed at this hotel many times with students. They're very kind and knowledgeable. They will answer any and all questions from inquiries about restaurants to historical information on the Duomo. They're accommodating, clean, and professional. The location is great, the entire hotel is clean, and they have a very good breakfast.

This hotel is in a great location.. The room was very spacious, with an entryway and separate doors for the bedroom and bathroom.The entryway has coat hooks and room for one suitcase with storage underneath for shoes. In the bedroom, there was a chair and loveseat, along with a wardrobe with a safe, and a desk area.There are USB ports next to the bed on both sides. The bed was very firm. As far as the bathroom, please note that our particular room had a shower that was raised about a foot off the floor, and there is not much to hold on to getting in and out.The tile floor is very slippery when wet. The hairdryer had cracks in the air tube so it was very weak. Breakfast was great, with a wide variety of choices: eggs, cold cuts, breads, sweet rolls ,yogurt, fruit, cereal, etc. There is a small bar in the lobby. The staff was very helpful with calling to make restaurant reservations for us (recommended as the restaurants can easily fill up.)

Hotel’s located in the center. Before arrival (especially on Wednesday) make sure there are no events (e.g. Thursday markets), otherwise they will tow your car away. Despite beautiful views from the window, the service is not very friendly (ladies).
