Beautiful rooms with excellent airconditioning, had a room on two floors which suited us perfectly. Lovely shower also. Best service from concierge, helpful with parking and sorting the room when we got off the boat. Perfect location. Highly recommend. Thank you Adriano for your kind help with our trip
We really enjoyed our stay here. A historic, elegant hotel right on the waterfront, with helpful and cheery staff. We first had a room on the ground floor which was fabulous in classic decor and had very high ceilings but proved quite noisy, we could hear clearly guests and staff talking until late at night and from the early morning again. They changed us to a more typical, smaller room which was also very comfortable, so no complaints. The rooms are classical and kept very clean. The choice at breakfast is plentiful, the offerings delicious and it is a joy to start your day with these beautiful views of the harbour. Their recommendations for good restaurants were excellent. My only real criticism is that the prices at the roof top bar are way too high. A Campari Spritz at a classy bar in the central square of Ortigia, overlooking the fountain, is €6; at the hotel €20. I am not sure why hotels often do that, but it always feels counterproductive. Anyway, overall we had a great stay and we particularly loved the architecture, atmosphere and welcoming staff.
I stayed in this historic hotel a while ago. The location and private parking were excellent. Unfortunately, I noticed in my room that the air conditioning didn't always work and that it made a very annoying noise. I was given a very basic fan from the 1990s. The hallway, stairs, and elevator were filled with a strong, unpleasant odor. Definitely not a 5 star hotel.
