Grand Hotel Paestum

We stayed one night on our way to Rome. They gave us a large room for a cheap price. Breakfast was buffet style, good quality. Everything was clean and elegant. We weeks lucky that it was October - the place was almost deserted so we had it all for ourselves.

We had a very disappointing experience during our weekend stay with family. The hotel looked nothing like the pictures—it's an old structure and poorly connected to the beach. The breakfast was extremely basic; they only offered cereals and a few croissants, with no English breakfast options. Even standard eggs were an extra charge. We booked a half-board stay, so we knew we'd have to pay for additional items and drinks. However, we were surprised to find two small bottles of water in the fridge, which we assumed were complimentary. Given the price we paid, almost £400 per night, it seemed reasonable to expect at least this. Instead, we were charged for the water at the end of our stay. Overall, the experience was not worth the cost.

I‘d not recommend staying here! Here a list why: - the room was dirty. when we claimed that they told us that they cleaned it again but it was exactly the same - the room itself smelled very bad and also the shower stunk - the wifi did not work in the room even though we claimed in advanced that this is important and the confirmed that it works properly - the whole hotel and area is verd old and run down - the tables at the breakfast where dirty and the food really did not look appetizing - also how they treated us as guests felt like they don‘t need us there
