Grand Hotel Preanger

We had a short family vacation in Bandung and stayed a night here. It was a short but nice stay and the hotel is perfectly located right in the center, just a short walk to Braga street where you can explore local food spots and shops. The hotel is one of the older historic buildings in Bandung, dating back to the Dutch colonial era, but the property is well maintained and still feels clean and comfortable. It has a swimming pool and depending on where your room is, you can catch the sunrise with a mountainous backdrop. The room we stayed in was spacious enough and instead of curtains, the windows had sliding wooden panels, which gave it a unique touch. Overall, a convenient and comfortable place to stay especially for bigger groups.

But—because no review is complete without some honest notes—here are a few things I hope the hotel can improve: The hair dryer in our room didn’t work, and the power outlet nearby was faulty. A small issue, but one that can easily be fixed for a better guest experience. The toilet floor tends to pool water when the shower is used, which could be uncomfortable and slippery. Overall, Grand Preanger remains a beautiful, nostalgic choice for anyone who wants to experience Bandung’s classic luxury in a strategic location. I booked from the website and got a good deal. I got upgraded but really disappointed with the room. Everything in the room are old. Some things it's ok too keep it vintage but things like a rusty shower should be replace. The bathtub's drain cover was broken. It was very hard to find electric plug in the room. The breakfast was good with decent varieties.
