Grand Hotel Riva

This hotel was a bit disappointing. The room was comfortable enough, but with a very strange (not adjustable) blind next to a completely normal glass panel window (not opaque) in the bathroom, such that whilst showering, someone could see in, but the blind obstructed the view out from head height… (you can’t see me if I can’t see you?!) The sauna and steam room area was great and the infinity pool looked excellent although we arrived too late to use it. The breakfast here was mediocre, with the previous night’s leftovers from dinner clearly used for breakfast. Whilst I appreciate not wasting food, if things have been sitting out and gone dry, we don’t really want to eat that. A very cute sparrow also decided to share my breakfast - not a problem for me, but might be annoying for some. Great views, but parking very limited and expensive.

Very nice hotel with great views. Central location is good for getting around all the local places of interest. Not too busy even at peak times.

Great location & beautiful balcony view. Unfortunately the patio doors were cracked, the balcony was dirty & in need of repair. The room was clean but basic no table for the kettle they provided, nowhere to put toiletries in bathroom. Restaurant food was average. Riva Grand is a basic 3* hotel.
