Grand Hotel Royal

Would recommend this hotel with no hesitation whatsoever. Room was SPOTLESS, easily the cleanest hotel room I’ve stayed in. Great location near Pompeii ruins, city center, and train station. Ottavio gave really great restaurant recommendations and the breakfast is quite nice and included in the price of the room. The highlight of my stay was easily the hosts, Gaetano and Ottavio. They were exceptional. They are the most helpful, friendly, and welcoming hosts I’ve ever encountered. The room refrigerator does come stocked with a variety of beverages that are an additional charge, and would be helpful to keep in mind that any drink removed from the fridge must be paid in cash at the end of your stay - not card. Wasn’t an issue for our stay, but may be important for some to know beforehand.

We stayed for three days and would definitely use this hotel again. The manager and staff were wonderful, they went out of their way to make our stay very pleasant. The breakfast was great and we had lots of choice of the well prepared selection. The hotel is ideally located to see the major attractions of pompei, and the restaurants and cafes in the town.

5 stars for Gaetano! Such a hospitable owner who took care of us even before we checked in all the way through check out. He made sure that we were comfortable and going in the right direction at all times. He made phone calls to make sure we had the right tickets and transportation set up. We needed to leave early and he insisted on giving us a breakfast to-go.
