Been there for 2 nights. The hotel is stunning, going along with the old European style of the city. Rooms were nice, food is OK, service was great, staff is very nice. Location is good. I'd say it's everything you'd expect and need, not exceptional but very good. You should know however, it's not packed with activities. There is a spa and gym for an extra charge. Most of your time will be spent touring the city.

The service from the staff was great, they helped with a rental car and taxis and were very pleasant. The lobby area is inviting and the President Suite was large. The mattress is old with big dips in it, very bad for my back. There are mechanical shutters on all windows which is nice for keeping it dark in the morning. The restaurant is just above the room and they were moving tables and chairs around 7am. Once we called to ask for quiet they spoke with the staff up there and they made it better. The location is not wonderful. It is a dirty area of town with a train station and bus stops near by. Quite a lot of homeless there, lots of trash on the ground. Not very many restaurants and fewer shops. There are 2 hot tubs on the 7th floor roof top bit are right next to dining tables for the bar. And they were not cleaned often.

The good, the bad, and the ugly. Set your expectations - this hotel is definitely NOT 5-star. The service at reception is nonexistent. I.e no help with bags to the room, no greetings upon leaving or returning, no explanation of any hotel information, no apology for the broken spa, and no question about our stay once checking out. Pretty much felt invisible the whole stay. The rooms are rundown and dark. We had instant regret booking this accommodation when entering the room. The Jacuzzi on the top floor doesn’t work but is still advertised. For the price, it is not good value. I’ve stayed at better 3-star accommodation with better service and rooms. I think some of the other reviews must be part of a package deal or conference where they haven’t paid directly. The good - the breakfast room is amazing, and the lady who manages this is great and a very attentive person. Sorry for the bad review but it needed to be said.
