I had an excellent four night stay at the Grand Hotel Villa Torretta. I stayed here with family while visiting Milan and the Lake Como area. While it's not in the center of Milan, there is a metro stop about a 10 minute walk away. This will get you to the center of Milan or the train station within 30 minutes or so. This hotel is very charming and definitely has an old world vibe. The overall ambience was elegant and rustic. The breakfast had a large variety of items to choose from and was included for being a Hilton honors diamond member. I booked two rooms and surprisingly both got upgraded with one all the way up to a junior suite. The staff was very professional and friendly especially Stefano who checked us in. I would highly recommend staying here if you want to visit Milan. It's not in the center but it's very accessible. The rates are substantially cheaper and the area is quieter.
Charming Stay in a Historic Villa We had a lovely stay at Villa Torretta. The staff ( Isabelle🙏) were incredibly kind and welcoming, and we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary room upgrade — thank you! The historic building is stunning, with beautifully preserved frescoes that add a special charm. The location is perfect for visiting Milan — peaceful, yet well connected to the city. Highly recommended for anyone looking for comfort, elegance, and genuine hospitality. We’d gladly return.
I've remodeled several old homes, so I appreciate the thought, design, expense, and work that's put into remodeling a property like this. I walked around staring and admiring the large vigas, wood floors, designation of spaces to maximize casual relaxation and meetings, and the beautiful grounds with large fountain. I had a meeting near the lobby, and the front desk was kind enough to provide bottled water and coffee. There’s a bar which is open during certain hours beginning in the afternoon but just for a short while. The breakfast selections were fesh, coffees, and teas fine quality. Getting to the hotel from LIN is two trains and a short walk, not bad, and I liked using public transport for an immersing experience. Although the hotel doesn't have a selection of restaurants and bars most of the time, there's a mall a block away with a good selection of restaurants. My room was large, the largest I've had in a European hotel in a long time, and I've stayed in many. I really liked the feel of a renovated mansion and would definitely choose to stay here again.
