Grand Hotel Zell Am See

We had such a lovely stay at the Grand Hotel Zell am See. The hotel has a really charming, traditional Austrian feel to it, with a beautiful lakeside location and amazing views in every direction. Our room was clean, comfortable, and perfect for a family — we especially enjoyed waking up to that stunning scenery each morning. The food was another highlight — breakfast had loads of choice, and the evening meals were delicious, with something different each night and friendly, attentive service that made it feel like a treat. One of the main reasons we chose this hotel was because of the kids’ club, which meant we could enjoy some relaxing time in the amazing Grand Spa — or just some much-needed adult time — while the children were happily entertained. Diane, who runs the club, was absolutely fantastic. She’s so kind, patient, friendly, and great fun — our children absolutely adored her. They loved every minute with her and were always asking to go back each day. In fact, they never wanted to leave when it was time to close! Diane also went out of her way to help us with ideas for things to do and places to visit in the area — she was just so helpful and genuinely wanted us to have the best experience possible. Thank you, Diane, for making the holiday so special for our whole family. You really made a lasting impression, and we’re so grateful. We had a great time and would love to come back again.

I was, and still am, completely in love with this hotel. The room was HUGE, with an amazing view of the lake. We were welcomed with welcome drinks, and were able to enjoy a fire in our hotel room! Breakfast, dinner, and an afternoon snack are provided. If I’m being honest, the snack is honestly big enough that you could get by with only eating food from this hotel. I really enjoyed the food, too, especially breakfast. The hotel is located right next to the town, and within a seven minute walk of the train stop. I highly, highly recommend this hotel.

Great looking hotel. Old style of keys are annoying. Staff are young, not so experienced, but make up for it with enthusiasm. Manager was very accomodating to fix issues. We had the half board. Plenty of options for breakfast, and it was great. Dinner is more of a show with 4 courses, makes it easy not to go out looking for food, but don’t expect quality. Activities nearby are paddle boards, slow boats for hire and a small casino. We have been staying at hotels on and off for 6 months straight and this place is way overpriced for what they offer.
