Grand Hotell Egersund

I was part of a group of authors touring Norway and stimulating our creativity. The blessed people who put it together included a 6 course meal here. It was absolutely one of the best culinary experiences that I have ever had! One delicious course after another, everything was a home run! The staff was attentive and informed us of each course. We were seated in the front half of the restaurant and had a great view of the chefs finishing the dishes and plating. They were impeccable professionals. Cheers to the chefs and wait staff that topped off the awesome cuisine!

Great hotel to stay for business. There're several conference rooms available fully equipped.

For being a hotel that calls itself Grand, there is little about it that is. As an example, having POWDER scrambled eggs served at the breakfast is absolute lowmark. A lot of the product served are factory/concentrate, bread, juice and so on. I expect a hotel that calls itself Grand to have a Grand standard, not the standard I can find on a local petite B&B, when I then also pay a lower price set to that standard accordingly. The hotel clearly has old history but has been subjected to max profit with the cheapest standard and products as possible in later days. Only in Norway can a hotel get away with this at almost monopoly and no competition around.
