Grand Hyatt Hangzhou Galaxy Hotel

If you’re planning for a trip to Hangzhou, I’d recommend staying at the Grand Hyatt Hangzhou! The hotel’s location is unbeatable, sitting right on the east side of Xi Hu (West Lake), with sweeping views from my room and a rooftop patio that offers a front-row seat to the lake's beauty. The peaceful atmosphere and natural surroundings were the perfect backdrop to relax and unwind. I also loved the indoor swimming pool, which is bathed in natural light and kept at a perfect temperature—ideal for a dip no matter the season. It’s a little oasis in the middle of the city. The breakfast spread was fantastic, with an expansive selection ranging from freshly baked pastries to local specialties and a variety of fresh fruits. The hotel also offers a range of dining options, from steakhouse to a Michelin Guide-listed Chinese restaurant. And there’s even a mall right next door, making it extremely convenient to shop and grab a bite! If you’re visiting Hangzhou, this hotel is the perfect place to stay for comfort and convenience, offering a luxurious experience with world-class amenities and breathtaking views of West Lake, all with an impeccable service.

Pleasant rooms with decent to good service. I had a lovely view of the west lake from the 8th floor and enjoyed the gym on the second floor as well. The gym is a bit small but has everything you need to get a full workout Only negative experience that occurred was my room not being ready upon check in. I requested early check in but the room was still being cleaned. I wasn’t able to get my room until about 5PM which is 2 hours past regular check in time Location is top tier as you can browse the street stalls right outside and you’re conveniently located right next to a shopping district with plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance. Breakfast food was very diverse but I felt the food wasn’t very noteworthy. Lounges were great and the folks there were very pleasant. I enjoyed their small selection of beers, wines, finger foods, and tea. The space itself is a bit small so during peak hours it can get busy Overall a very enjoyable stay minus the late checking experience.
