Stayed solo on vacation and upgraded to Grand Club for 5,000 Hyatt points - which I think can be worth it. Club level includes full dinner buffet during "happy hour" plus excellent breakfast. Check-in available directly at the club level (walk to elevators, go down one floor). Requested lower floor room with bathtub which they accommodated. Rooms are comfortable and well-sized for Seoul, though decor feels a bit dated. In-room water dispenser was convenient. Early check-in at 12pm wasn't a problem. Location on small hill means some uphill walking but area feels very safe and quiet. Club lounge food quality is excellent with great variety throughout the day. Did have to navigate the bus system which from Seoul station is a little confusing for someone riding the bus for the first time. Returning is pretty straightforward. Pool is surprisingly busy at Monday 6AM with the small indoor pool and narrow lanes.
We stayed here in mid July for three nights with my wife. We could not have been more pleased. The service was excellent. They made us feel welcomed immediately. Our room with a view of the Seoul tower was perfect (King bed I think it was premium room). We ate their lunch buffet and it was great. Different types of food. Steak, Italian, Korean, Japanese, American. We also spend an afternoon at the outdoor pool which was relaxing if you don’t mind families and people enjoying their time. It is located on a hill top but we were able to walk to itaewon in about 10 mins. Took cabs for anything else. We also took advantage of the gym. It had everything we needed. The machines all seemed new. Grand Hyatt Seoul definitely lives up to its 5 star status.
The hotel was very clean and in a good location. Service was also good. The only improvement I would suggest would be to have the WiFi working as it did not work any of the days we were there and I understand it was peak season, however having a time limit for the pool and long lines for the elevators was not convenient. Thank you though for a beautiful stay.
