Grand Hôtel Chicago

My husband Jack and I both stayed at this hotel the last couple of days and truly I couldn't recommend it enough! Staff were fabulous, the rooms were great and the breakfast was delicious but what is really great about this hotel is hands down the staff. Incredibly welcoming, make you feel like you are at home and nothing is too much hassle for them. Thank you all so much, we will definitely be back! From Jack and Holly. Room 210.

A fabulous hotel located in a quieter part of the city. The rooms are immaculately clean but the real reason to stay here is the fantastic staff. Most of them speak English and will help you out in any way possible. The breakfast here is very good and had everything from scrambled eggs and sausage to a variety of cheeses and yogurts. The quality was marvelous. The rooms are small (as all big city hotel rooms are) but the windows opened which helped. We had a room off the courtyard which was very quiet so we were able to keep our window open at night. They have some special kind of windows in the hotel so when you close them, they seal out all noise. Good to know in case an ambulance comes by at night. The bathrooms are larger than you would expect. Everything in the rooms were well-kept and updated. The beds were very comfortable with down comforters. I'm super picky and hate a hard bed and these were perfect for me. We were able to walk to everything we wanted to see but there is also a metro stop close by so we used that as well. There is a neighborhood with restaurants and shops behind the hotel and across the street from it so you have plenty of very close options if you don't want to go far at night. We found a lovely wine shop located a few streets behind the hotel and opened a bottle in the lobby on several evenings! Thanks to the staff for bringing us some bread and a knife to go with our snacks!

The best thing about Grand Hôtel Chicago is how clean it is — everything was very tidy. The location is good, with easy access to metro and buses. There are lots of nice cafés and bakeries nearby that aren’t too expensive. I recommend having breakfast at one of them instead of the hotel. On the downside, the hotel is overpriced. The rooms are small, there’s no real view, and it doesn’t feel like a 4-star hotel. I’d only recommend it if cleanliness is your top priority.
