Very affordable, clean rooms and soft beds, helpful staff. The hot spring bath was never busy. Free alcohol and snacks in the lounge from 15:00~18:00 and 21:00~23:00. A good selection at breakfast. Location is convenient for shopping and sightseeing. ¥500 parking charge and you can keep your car in the lot until 13:00 the day of check out. We will come again.

Value for money and good location . They are using glass cup for the lounge services which is very satisfied to me as other mercure hotels I went are all using paper cups. Their staffs at the restaurant are also nice compared with other mercure hotels. I would love to come back here if I have an opportunity in the future.

Grand Mercure Nara Kashihara - Disappointing Experience Our stay at Grand Mercure Nara Kashihara fell far short of the 5-star experience we anticipated. The core elements of 5-star hospitality—customer care, attention to detail, and personalized service—were noticeably absent. As English-speaking guests, we faced significant language barriers, with no staff proficient enough to assist us effectively. This left us feeling isolated and unsupported, a critical oversight for a hotel catering to international guests and deceptive given its 5-star rating. Room service was equally disappointing. Essential amenities, like a luggage bag holder, were only provided after pushback, and basic provisions, such as water bottles, were limited to one per person daily and not replenished consistently. The mini-bar and in-room soft drink options were nonexistent, unacceptable for a 5-star hotel and especially for Gold Plus members. Additionally, our couple’s booking was marred by being given adjoining double beds instead of the expected single bed for a romantic stay, undermining the tailored experience we expected. The dining experience further compounded our dissatisfaction. The buffet was underwhelming, with low-grade sashimi and substandard beef for shabu-shabu, failing to meet the standards of other 5-star establishments we’ve visited. The lack of in-room dining options was particularly frustrating, as we prefer singular meals over a buffet. We chose Grand Mercure Nara Kashihara over other hotels like Novotel, trusting its reputation for excellence. Instead, we were met with inadequate service, language barriers, and subpar dining, leaving us deeply disappointed. We cannot recommend this hotel to international guests and question the validity of its 5-star rating, which feels misleading.
