Pros, location is amazing, rooms are clean. Staff is helpful. Ski renting is cheaper and staff is helpful. Costa helped a lot. Good internet connection. Rooms are warm. There was no disturbance. Cons the beds are awful. You need a massage every morning, They should change the beds immediately. The breakfast is not a breakfast. Bread on top melted cheese.
Our experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing. The room was dirty, and the bathroom drain was severely clogged, causing water and debris (including hair from previous guests) to flow back out. Both drains failed to drain water properly, making it extremely unpleasant to take a shower. I reported this issue to the staff multiple times, yet it was never addressed. When we requested a different room, we were told none were available—despite seeing open rooms listed on Booking.com. Additionally, we stayed on the first floor, and the toilet would flush randomly whenever someone from the upper floors used theirs. This issue was also reported but ignored. To make matters worse, we were given a different room than the one we originally booked. When I brought this up at the reception, the staff claimed that no managers were available and that they had no knowledge of reservations, leaving the issue unresolved. The beds and pillows were extremely uncomfortable and of poor quality. Managing even 20 minutes of uninterrupted sleep felt like an achievement. The room was also in poor condition, with dust everywhere and a dead bug splattered on the wall. Thankfully, I had brought my own sheets and pillowcases, as the overall cleanliness of the room left me questioning the hygiene of the provided bedding. The hallways smelled strongly of mold, further emphasizing the hotel’s lack of proper maintenance. The parking situation was equally frustrating. Every available parking spot was taken, forcing me to park a few hundred meters away in a public lot. The hotel provided a parking permit that needed to be replaced every two days, which was an inconvenience. Additionally, there were no sidewalks leading to the parking area, meaning I had to walk in the middle of the road, hoping to avoid oncoming traffic. Overall, this was a very negative experience that impacted the entire trip, including the skiing itself. I would not recommend this hotel.
The Monastery hotel is just ill designed. There is parking space for around 1/5 of the people. The Monastery hotel is designed with an escalator, no elevator and 5 floors of staircases. When you are going up, there is an escalator. When you are going down, there are only stairs. Definitely, not comfortable for old people or such with disabilities. When you are moving out, all the luggage needs to be moved by hand through the staircases... Restaurant is really low quality, high price. Lastly, it is hard to get to the slopes, you need to walk through the whole hotel.
