Grand Nikko Awaji

Excellent stay we had at grand Nikko Awaji and definitely want to be back! It’s easily accessible from Kōbe by the highway bus but we came from Shikoku so it’s a bit of a distance. However, it was the best experience we had. They upgraded us to a room with superb view of the Osaka bay and famous architecture Yumebutai. The scenery everyday is breathtaking. Initially unknown to us, Yumebutai is very famous structure designed by renowned architect Ando Tadao. Inside the hotel is also accessible directly to this place and famous chapel Cappella di Mare also designed by the same architect. We were pleasantly surprised to be enjoying such a wonderful surroundings of nature and design as the hotel is also situated in the national park. The breakfast buffet included in the hotel stay plan was also excellent. They have a wide range of local vegetables, fruits, breads, Japanese selections and western ones too. One of the best hotel buffet breakfasts I’ve had in a while. If you don’t eat breakfast you can exchange the coupon to lunch which I think it’s a great idea as some people don’t eat breakfast. Staff are also friendly and helpful. Many can also speak some English so it’s very convenient. Only thing is there’s no hot spring and we couldn’t find the information for the spa price. Wi-Fi here can be a bit choppy but I guess the estate is big. Maybe it needs more wifi routers. There’s also easy accessibility to other nearby attractions on Awaji island like Nijigen no Mori, hello kitty showbox or smile etc but there’s waiting time intervals for these bus connections. I think such information can be clearer communicated to guests. On the whole we really enjoyed our stay and look forward to be back again hopefully soon.

Awesome hotel, indoor pool and spa, buffet was beyond awesome

Not the best but view from bedroom is a plus . Also you are in Yumebutai by Tadao endo so its perfect that why rooms are expensive. Just note there s no free sento ans pool it cost 2600 yen. .....to expensive for a sento....
