The hotel is new and looks very good from inside. Big parking lot. The place is very quiet. But no shops or restaurants nearby. In the middle of nowhere - is a good definition for this hotel. Otherwise the place is not bad at all. It had rooms available each time I came. The nearest metro is Tekstilshiki. 15-20 min walk.

Very clean, staff very helpful, but the views out the window are something else 😋

Firstly, the Grand Hotel Palacio has two listings online for their location (see image). When trying to find the hotel, I walked a long ways to an incorrectly marked address. Upon further inspection of the map, I noticed a second listing for the Grand Hotel Palacio (at the bottom of the image). This is the only "four star" hotel in the area and I was looking forward to staying in (what I thought) was a nicer establishment. I made the decision to trek to the real location. Second, the hotel is located in a rather unsavory area. Right outside the entrance was a wild pack of dogs. You read that correctly. If you're walking here from the metro, think twice. After now having spent more than an hour trying to get to the real location, it was getting late in the evening. I was relieved to see the hotel, which had only a handful of cars in the parking lot. I'm rather tired upon arrival, ready to take a shower and call it a night. Little did I know the two employees at the desk were going to be rude and aimless. Which leads me to point... Three, we were told the hotel was completely booked up for the night, when in fact I had just been online and found plenty of rooms available. They retorted that the rooms I was looking at were in fact for the next night, which simply couldn't have been the case. I had an accomplice of mine who is fluent in Russian, so the language barrier was not a problem. We were told to get lost. I went outside, did a quick count, there were twelve vehicles in the parking lot. The hotel is a three story building, there is no plausible way in which all the rooms were booked on a Wednesday night in May. I have no idea what the motive was for being denied a room. I suspect mismanagement and poor training. I'd suggest finding another place to stay, it's possible you'll end up wasting your time here...
