Had a great stay at this hotel! The location is super convenient — right in the center, so it was really easy to get to all the fun spots and local attractions. Perfect if you want to explore without spending too much time getting around. The room had a beautiful view (especially at sunset 😍) and the decor was really nice — modern, clean, and felt kind of fancy without being over the top. Very comfy and cozy, which made it easy to relax after a long day. Staff were super friendly and quick to help with anything I needed. Service was on point and everything was super clean — from the room to the common areas. Honestly, it was a great experience overall. Would definitely stay here again!

The Hanoi Grand Plaza Hotel has certainly seen better days. While it’s a nice place overall, it feels like it’s lost some of the grand flair it may have once had. The property has aged and hasn’t quite kept up with the standards you’d expect from a five-star hotel. It’s not a bad stay by any means, but given the many excellent options in Hanoi, I’d personally choose a different hotel—and I did.

I would have given 5 out of 5 stars except for three things: The room smelled musty due to mold. That is a health hazard, but common across southeast asia. I understand, so I won't be overly harsh regarding that. However, what Iwill be harsh on, is the fact that I had two beers in the lobby and the servers attempted to rob me. After waiting 10+ minutes for my change (I paid 500k dong for a 270 dong bill), it never returned. I waited a few more minutes to see what would happen, as I started to realize they hoped I wouldn't ask for it. Once I did ask, it appeared in less than 10 seconds. What a coincidence. Foreigners, watch your money here. They know exactly what they're doing, and at a "five star hotel" nonetheless. Abhorrent practice. Also, I expected fluffier, softer towels. But, it is what it is.
