I stayed at Grand Resort Lagonissi in a beachfront bungalow, and the experience was absolutely perfect. The room was exceptionally spacious, beautifully designed, and opened directly onto a private beach – you literally step out of your room and into the sea. The service throughout the resort was outstanding: prompt, courteous, and highly professional. Breakfast was a highlight – an impressive variety of fresh, high-quality dishes. A true delight for food lovers. The overall atmosphere is peaceful, luxurious, and private – one of the few places I already know I’ll return to. An unforgettable experience. Highly recommended!
This resort has undeniably beautiful grounds and beaches. It’s very conveniently located near the airport and Athens, so you can experience the beautiful of Grecian seaside without the hassle of traveling to the islands. The service is quite good and it was a beautiful venue for a wedding. That said, the rooms in the main building are outdated and small. The bathroom reminds me of that you might find on a cruise ship; when you open the door, it hits the toilet and you have to perform gymnastics to get in. The bed was the worst I have ever experienced in a hotel, much less a luxury hotel. The bright spot of the accommodations is that you are hard-pressed to find a room where you don’t have a beautiful view of the ocean! The food is extremely expensive, though this is to be expected at a seasonal beach resort. As some reviews have mentioned, the resort does somewhat nickel-and-dime you (for example, only your first 2 espresso pods are included) and it is missing modern amenities. All in all, the location and scenery of the hotel are 5-star but the accommodations themselves are more like a 3-star experience. If it were not for the compelling nightly rate offered to wedding guests, I would have felt severely over-charged for the quality of the stay. I would absolutely not pay €500+ per night to stay here.
Racist and poor value for money. An assumption was made that myself and 2 others were too poor to be allowed access. We are well presented and frankly very successful individuals from London, England. The only thing that makes sense as to why we were treated the way we were is due to our skin colour. It was a day when no taxis were running and we were staying close by so we walked to spend the day on the beach. Before even getting to a point where we could purchase a day pass we were questioned why we were on the grounds. After paying entry to even walk on their frankly mediocre grounds we were questioned again about why we were there. After calmly explaining our intention to spend the day on the beach we were told it’s too expensive for us and to go somewhere else. After explaining it’s fine the racist security insisted we leave. They were extremely dismissive and rude. We are civilised and ensured there was no escalation however I think many people would have concluded our reaction was way too passive for the treatment we were subjected to. This company lost money that day due to inaccurate prejudice and I hope that anyone with any basic level of standards when it comes to customer service will know better than to spend their money with this company. I have frequented many luxury establishments across the world and in my opinion from what I was able to see from their grounds it shouldn’t fall within that category. So even if racism and customer service isn’t a priority for you know that the money you spend is not worth the value they offer.
