My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Grand Royale this weekend. Our room was immaculate, and fully equipped with all that we needed to ensure a comfortable holiday. The bathroom, although small, was spotlessly clean with an excellent shower. The air-con was a welcome bonus, given the heatwave. Staff were attentive and polite - and a special mention must go to Carmen for her exceptionally friendly service at breakfast. The splendour of the rooms gives the hotel a real luxury feel, and all conveniences (supermarkets, restaurants, tube station) are within a two minute walk. We very much look forward to returning to this hotel soon. My new favourite place for a short break in London!

My stay was more enjoyable than I expected, having read some previous reviews. My single room and its bathroom were very clean and comfortable. Air conditioning was very efficient and very welcome. Great location, with Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens just across the road, and two tube stations nearby. Great decor in the communal areas, too

The location is a good compromise, by being less busy than some of the preferable central locations while well served with buses and subway lines. The neighbourhood is charming with nice offer of restaurants and the park conveniently next door. The Hotel main hall and waiting room are a true experience of British interior decoration and just the later one alone should be a tourist attraction. Then we move the the room, which is a square centimetre from claustrophobic, but functional. Then there is the bathroom where we were greeted with a pubic hair on the anti-slip rubber bathtub “thing”. Things don’t get much better if one takes a closer look to the bathtub equipment that looks used and in need of replacement. Finally the breakfast took place in elegant social rooms, lighten by big old school windows, well assisted by plentiful and attentive service but the food is boring at best… Overall it is fairly prices and charming if only the room service and maintenance had a bit more attention then I would rate if fairly better.
