Grand Serendib Hotel

This hotel is simply outstanding – a true gem in Sri Lanka. The rooms are spacious, beautifully designed, and offer incredible views. You can immediately feel the high quality of the place, matching even European or Western standards. A special mention to the chef – he clearly knows what he’s doing! He’s not only talented but also extremely attentive, friendly, and always making sure everything is perfect. The breakfast deserves a special highlight: without a doubt, it’s the best I’ve had in Sri Lanka so far – truly a 5-star, top-notch breakfast experience. Highly recommended!

Room 506 is where it is AT!!!! Definitely worth the splurge for the view - this room has a stunning corner view overlooking Kandy! There's also a nice patio that opens up with a fabulous outlook. The room itself was spacious, clean and well maintained. Bed and restroom were clean and comfortable. In addition to our room, the rooftop lounge / bar had beautiful views. Also, the lobby itself had amazing views and breakfast buffet was included offering a very nice array of breakfast options for all taste palettes. They also had a fresh egg hopper and omelet station. Very fresh and tasty. Location was up a hill and quite a distance to the main road, but you could walk if you wanted to (30ish minutes). But hideout lounge was a 10 minute walk and also enjoyable. Service was incredible, highly recommend and would stay here again in a heartbeat!

The team pays excellent attention to the needs of guests, ensuring that every detail is taken care of. Whether it was helping us with recommendations, arranging transportation, or just checking in to see if we needed anything, their hospitality was top-notch. This hotel is especially family-friendly, and our kids had an amazing time. The pool was a highlight—clean, spacious, and a perfect way to cool off and relax after a day of sightseeing. The staff was great with kids, and we appreciated the thoughtful touches that made the stay enjoyable for the whole family. One of the standout features was the lovely tea time and high tea experience. It was a beautiful way to unwind in the afternoons, with delicious treats and a great atmosphere. Overall, the Grand Serendib Hotel combines excellent service, family-friendly amenities, and a relaxing environment. It’s a perfect choice for both couples and families looking to explore Kandy. We would absolutely stay here again
