Grand Theoni Hotel Suites and Spa

The hotel is perfectly located in the active hart of Vassiliki and everything is in a walking distance. We used it as a base to visit the western part of the island and access to the ferry so we could easily visit Ithaki. I would not come again and would prefer a more boutique hotel. This hotel has got good bones but they way it operates makes it not a vibrant place you want to stay. Only the reception (2 ladies of which one also works in the restaurant) of the evening shift is very friendly and makes you feel welcome. The rest of the team gives you a feeling that they rather don't have guests.... We asked, when we moved to Ithaki, to place our luggage in the luggage room. This room, according to the hotel, would be safe and secured. Well you can put your luggage in a closet which can be accessed easily by everybody (see picture) also from the street. Cleaning of the rooms is okay. But cleaning the pool (looks like some small visitors came during the night) and the restaurant area can really improve.

This review reflects a deeply disappointing hotel experience in Greece. The reviewer booked a room for one night before catching a ferry, hoping for a clean and decent stay. Instead, they encountered an outdated and poorly maintained property that seemed frozen in the 1980s—not in a nostalgic way, but in a neglected, run-down state. The biggest frustration came with the pricing. The reviewer paid €190 for a night, while others who booked on the spot were charged under €90 for the exact same room. When this disparity was brought to the attention of the staff, the manager reportedly ignored the concern completely, demonstrating arrogance and a total lack of professionalism. The condition of the room was unacceptable: old furniture, poor cleanliness, and a barely functional bathroom. The breakfast experience further worsened the impression when the guest found a dead fly cooked into an egg—a serious hygiene issue, even for the most basic accommodations.

One of the worst hotels I have stayed in in my entire life. In no way is it a 4 star hotel! Breakfast - In a hotel that claims to have 4 stars, there should be a wide variety of food. They have 2-3 things that repeat every day. The coffee is worse, there is no cappuccino, no fresh juice. You have nothing to eat. The tables were dirty. The room - exceptionally small for a 4 star hotel. There was always a bad smell in the bathroom, and the drain from the toilet had problems almost every time. Parking - you had to walk 7-10 minutes and it was not even good. I will not stay at this hotel again. It is not worth it!
