I had a great stay at this hotel. The room was surprisingly big, giving me plenty of space to relax and unpack. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, always ready to assist with a smile. The location in the downtown area made it super convenient to explore the city.
I loved this hotel for its pool, however the hotel does have flaws. If I could give 4.5 stars, I would. The good: the pool is truly one of the most remarkable pools I’ve ever swam in. There is no shade for most of the day and too much wind to install shade. However, it’s a great pool to swim in. Maybe less nice to lay next to due to the wind. Bathrooms and rooms in the hotel remind me of western chain hotels like Hilton: impressive. The bad: breakfast needs a major upgrade. I would add hash brown potatoes, pho, mango, higher quality juices & coffee. Front desk service was often unfriendly. My Agoda booking said I would receive a space-available upgrade and the front desk repeatedly told me that the only available rooms were “multiple categories higher”. Well, the problem is that I can go online and see the hotel is fairly empty. I would have appreciated an upgrade to one of those available rooms. This is especially true after I extended my stay. I would not promise a space-available upgrade only to tell guests 1. better rooms are available and 2. you won’t give them those rooms. Finally, the biggest sin for this hotel is charging a security deposit. Leave a passport or 500K. Where am I, a hostel? No other hotel in Vietnam has asked this. Even worse: they make you wait until they check your room upon checkout, as if you are leaving summer camp as a child. This hotel must adopt practices that reflect the quality of its hotel. Modern hotels ask guests if they can keep a credit card on file for incidentals; they do not ask to keep passports (this is illegal in many passport-issuing countries). With these small improvements it would be a 5 star hotel I come back to again and again.
Very disappointed with this place. Room smelled bad, elevators were sprayed with something very unpleasant. The room didn’t have any windows to be opened, no air circulation. I didn’t have anything for breakfast, since the choices, especially for vegetarians were terrible. The receptionists either ate a cash deposit from you or your passport! The water in the pool was too cold.
