I was honestly very surprised by the exceptional hospitality of the resort staff; everyone was incredibly kind, caring, and helpful. A special shout-out goes to Luis, our concierge, who was absolutely amazing. He took care of everything, from booking our restaurants with the best views (something we hadn't even thought to ask for!) to handling last-minute changes and arranging our airport transportation. If you're heading to Mexico and can afford it, Grand Velas is hands down the best all-inclusive resort you could choose.
This resort is amazing. We are very experienced travelers and have come back to Grand Velas multiple times. Raymundo Ruiz, Chef Raul, Gustavo Mesero, butlers Maria and Salvatore all stand out as notably exceptional. These folks are truly caring about our stay and accommodations. The food is incredibly good. Everywhere. We will be back
We just returned from a 4-night stay at Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit. The food was outstanding, the resort was spotless, and most of the staff were truly exceptional—especially Maria (concierge), Edwin (bellboy), Celso (Lucca) and Audrey (Lucca and Frida), and the wonderful ladies at the Kid’s Club. They were warm, professional, and made us feel incredibly welcome. Unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by how poorly management handled our room reservation. We booked a Parlor Suite directly through the hotel months in advance—specifically for the separate bedroom to accommodate our toddler’s sleep schedule. When we arrived, we were told none were available and were placed in a different suite without a separate room. Management insisted it was an "upgrade," but it didn’t meet our needs. They said they would “ensure we had the best vacation ever” but refused to offer an apology, refund, or even a basic gesture of goodwill (the manager introduced himself the next day after breakfast, but that was it). This was our first vacation as a family with our 2.5-year-old daughter, and it was disappointing to see how little effort was made to resolve their mistake. Amazing staff, but unresponsive and dismissive management made this a frustrating experience.
